The roller screw of today was born in the fertile mind of a Swedish Inventor, Carl Bruno Strandgren in 1942.

He described it as a linear actuator similar to the ball screw already in use in the 1930’s but with a higher load capability within the same footprint. It includes a controlling system which would preclude any significant sliding motion so detrimental to its overall efficiency.

The family of roller screws that has been developed with our manufacturing branch and in synergy with our customers has aimed at resolving the two major above-mentioned challenges.

We think that the resulting products all have a place and function in the Mechanical Engineer’s quiver in the fight against energy overconsumption and resource waste.
